I had to read my last post after I saw it was way back in November since my last update. Surprised me to remember back to when things had slowed down a bit at the jail. It has been pretty consistent the last few months. I had 11 guys this past sunday and spent over 5 hours studying with them. I had one more that was wanting to see me, but I had to get home and be dad.
God has brought Danny Belknap back to us. What a great blessing it is to see the change in Danny's life. His faith continues to spread through all of those around him. He is the one inmate that stood out enough for one of the jailors to use him as the example of someone who sincerely changes. Please pray for Danny and his family as God may have another direction for his life to turn.
I had an inmate ask for help getting him a copy of a periodical devotional called "the upper room". If anyone could get that to me, it would be greatly appreciated by all.
I had an interesting developement last month when I had two inmates request to be baptized. Through the following discussions with the jailors to make the arrangements I discovered that the Jail recognizes me as a representative of the Vinyard Community Church here in Macomb since it was through one of their members that I was first recommended to the jail for clearance. There seems to be some hesitation on their part ot openly acknowlege my representation as a member of the
Crossing here in Macomb. The only real concern I have is that any of my actions, etc. reflect poorly upon our brothers and sisters at the Vinyard and vice versa I guess. I talked with Clayton and the first thing he said is exactly what is in my heart about it. "No real worries, just be thankful I have been blessed with the opportunity to be there for the guys.
I am still having a great time writing and talking to Kemar in Jamaica. What a wonderful brother is Christ he is. Please pray for him to be able to find work.
Hope to write again soon.
