Hello everyone,
Things still on the "slow" side as far as numbers go at the jail ministry as the population is down at the moment. Seems to be allowing the current relationships to get that much closer with the 4 guys I am meeting with right now. Had a friend and brother from Celebrate Recovery ask that I say hi to his friend if he ever came to see me in jail. Not only had I been studying with him for the past couple months but he had recently been baptized. Now my friend and his mother are both actively showing and preparing their support of him now and when he is released. What an awesome family we have at the Crossing. Still in awe about the nearly 100 baptisms last week. As hard as it is for us to hear the truth about our tendency to base our faith on traditions, etc., but when His truth is heard....wow.
I had a phone call from my friend and brother who had been through our "jail program" a couple years ago. He is now getting back to a normal life and living in Dekalb. Good to catch up with him and hear of the positive things happening in his life.
Tammy and I also ran into our friend and brother Marshall who is also doing well and is back in the Macomb area. He has been coming to the Crossing but we haven't seen each other due to the size and different worship services. Met each other at the new chinese restaurant and got some funny looks as we made over each other like long lost family. What great relationships my family has been blessed with.
Please pray for our brother C.L. and his family at the Crossing as things are being finalized in his situation. What an inspiration he is in how he has grown as a christian the past year and has definitely allowed God to stand him up again.
We are still in need of bibles for the jail ministry and I would love to get more together for the Hentzels as they will be heading back to the Jamaica mission in late December. So far Tammy and I have been able to get 20 KJV bibles for them and I hope to give him the rest of the NIV new testaments (about 10) if I can get some new complete bibles for our jail ministry.
Our love and appreciation to all our family at the Crossing and especially those closest to us in our small groups and the ministry staff we work side by side with in the children's programs, etc. Feeling alive again.
