My life the past few months has been a complete whirlwind of activity, to say the least. Taking on a new supervisory position over the water plant has been a challenge that has consumed a lot of time, energy and emotion. Praise God for my brother's in jail that continually lift me up and encourage me through their examples of patience and endurance in the situations they are facing up to.
Even though I've missed out on keeping up with this blog, I have yet to miss my time with the guys at the jail. The past few months I have been able to get up to Hill prison in Galesburg to meet with a couple of christian brothers there. It is definitely different going to "DOC" (prison). The atmosphere and the attitudes are tough and hardcore on the surface (that's inmates and staff), and after a bit the shell comes down and then you meet the real person so to speak. I have had a wonderful time with Gilberto and Darrell. Unfortuantely, my limitations of time and money appear to be holding me back. Of course, if God wants me there more often, those things will come according to His plan.
I have had a recent "loss" of my dear brother Daniel as he has moved off to complete his time somewhere in Michigan or Minnesota. Sorry , I'd have to look at the letter from his wonderful mother to be accurate. What an encouragement he and his entire family have been. Please pray for them and their relationship as a family as distance will pose a challenge for them.
Jo Jo Bleu and Scott are out and roaming wal mart picking up babes, or at least they were there with their girlfriends the day I ran into them. They seem to be doing well and are attending worship and studying the Word. Both of them provide great inspiration for me to keep going to jail knowing that those "special" friendships are just around the corner.
Nathan was out and came to the church of Christ, had a great time in our "Hunger for Healing" class. Unfortunately his life has been called to the Quad Cities. Blessings to him and his young family.
Well, that better be all for now, I'd have too many pages to describe all the ups and downs the past 3 1/2 months.
Love and peace to all,
Brian
