hello everyone,
The past few weekends have averaged about 4 hours per visit with about 6 inmates requesting to see me. Our donations have been in a slump lately but praise God Tammy has been able to compensate with our own finances again. I have had to hold back on my trips to Galesburg until other finances become available for fuel but the landscaping season is now into full swing and checks should be rolling in soon.
Last month we spent around $155.00 in resources and aid in benevolence and mission work, other than bibles for the Jail that the church of Christ paid for (thank you so much).
Daniel is getting prepared to move on to his jury trial next week and seems as prepared as possible. As he asked for advice on how to be prepared to handle the situation he showed me the vacant top bunk in his cell, which had 4 different translations of the bible and numerous other reference and inspirational books (his purpose driven life is being read for the 2nd time). He showed me some poetry that he has written and said that as he endured his trial he would turn towards the scriptures through his reference books (concordance, bible promise book, emotional concordance, etc) and pray through the hard times he was anticipating and focus on how God is in control of everything and he needed to deal with Him and His judgement that he justly deserves. Daniel seems to be seeing God's hand in every moment of his life and how he desperately needs to guard that focus.
It appears to me that in God's eyes........mission accomplished. What an inspiration Daniel is as he has grown over the past four months in his personal relationship with God and the encouragement he has been for every cell mate that he has had. Getting them to come see me and him being there to minister to them one on one as they served their time together.
Hopefully I will be able to get some time off work to attend some of his trials to show my brother my support.
In Christ,
Brian
