Hello everyone,
Well I set a new record or two yesterday. I had eleven guys request to see me and I was there studying with them for 6 hours . They were broken down into 2 groups of 3 , a group of 2, and then 3 individual studies.
Updates on the "regulars": Scott and Dell, solid as rock. They even had another man with them on their block. Come to find out he had requested to be put with them because he knew of their faith. Wow!!!. Oh yeah, also came to find out that he was the guy listening in while he was "napping" in his cell last week while I was there with Dell and Scott. Praise God, there was no need to nap this week. Yes , it was hard to see my brother in Christ fall back to where he's been before, but I'm sure it was harder on him. I know in my heart that this is a great opportunity for us to grow closer. All praise to God that this can be transformed into a positive time for us. To protect his anonymity, I'll refer to him as J.
Chad, still struggling hard with the emotional stress of missing his wife and especially his son. The great pain that I see my brother in surely proves the depth of his love for his wife and son. Please pray for the healing of Chad's heart as he bears up under the burden that he is under.
Chris, Howard and Jay are together now. They all seem to be doing really well and Chris and Howard should be getting out this week sometime. Hope to see them at church on Sunday to encourage those around me that have given their support in this mission.
Ray, still pounding away those days, things going well in his marriage and he seems t0 be bearing up well under the pressures of "jail life". Ray is doing really good at getting his mind straight on what's really important in life and how to focus his direction.
I had 3 other men meet with me for the first time so we did the kinda, get to know each other quick thing and then right down to business about our faith. Had a great time talking about facing those giants again, and yes that pearl of God's wisdom from my oldest son came to us again, "sometimes the biggest giant we have to face is ourselves".
Please pray for my family as we seek out God's direction in this mission, we seem to be able to come up with the time, but it's so easy to be tempted into frustration when the money isn't there. Bibles are going quick and the guys that got the 10 Fourth Man booklets loved them. Please take the time to go to the sites that I have linked on this page and donate some of the books and bibles that they need if you're not comfortable donating money.
No donations this month = no umbrella and it's starting to pour.
Our monthly budget now is going to be around $300.00. Please keep this need in your prayers and as always, please pray before you participate in this mission.
