hello everyone,

had a great time with Dell and Scott this past Sunday. One of those days where our time together just flew by. I'm amazed at how a couple young men can become so spiritually focused during such difficult times in their lives. Dell shared Psalm 30 with me as being a recent message of hope and comfort for him.
"I will exalt you, Lord, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. 2 Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me. 3 You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit. 4 Sing the praises of the Lord, you his faithful people; praise his holy name. 5 For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favour lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. 6 When I felt secure, I said, 'I shall never be shaken.' 7 Lord, when you favoured me, you made my royal mountain1 stand firm; but when you hid your face, I was dismayed. 8 To you, Lord, I called; to the Lord I cried for mercy: 9 'What is gained if I am silenced, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your faithfulness? 10 Hear, Lord, and be merciful to me; Lord, be my help.' 11 You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, 12 that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. Lord my God, I will praise you for ever."
Please focus your prayers for Scott and Dell on how they are taking their stress to God. So difficult for them to be in "limbo" for so long not knowing their fate. Also , while they have come to some level of acceptance about how their situation has affected themselves, they are still trying to find relief from God in how they have affected those they love.
They shared with me that they had a new person come through and that once they had found out that they were all christians, they stayed up talking all night for three days.
Praise God for providing them with a Recovery Devotional Bible that I was able to donate to the jail's library due to the most generous contribution yet.(5 recovery devo bibles, 5 Hunger for Healing books and 5 workbooks). The 5 workbooks were used immediately as a Hunger for Healing class that has been forming at our church of Christ had just decided to go through the workbook together. I was able to pass on another one of the Recovery Devotional Bibles to a dear brother who is early in his recovery.

God's love and peace to all,
especially Dell and Scott,
Brian
